DataArchiva: The journey from an idea to the big stage of Dreamforce 18

Not more than a year back, when the idea of a Salesforce data archiving solution came into our minds, we never thought this small idea will turn into our flagship product and will be showcased at the biggest cloud event of the world ‘Dreamforce’ just within a year. Being a Salesforce focused company, we worked with multiple industries in the past decade and served 100+ customers & delivered 200+ projects across the globe. One common challenge which most of our customers were facing was Salesforce storage cost. After understanding their pain points, we were committed to developing a solution which can serve the purpose. This is how the idea of DataArchiva born.

If you never failed, you never tried anything new. We also tasted failure at first. But that made us even more committed to coming up with something more robust. And then comes Big Objects, which is the soul of DataArchiva. As big data is a big deal, we often find ourselves with too much data to deal with. A large volume of data makes it difficult to store, use, manage, or retrieve. Even this raises complexities in performance and scalability. The real solution was Big Objects. We used Big Objects as storage and launched DataArchiva 1.0 in the AppExchange earlier this year.

The dream run after that

As soon as DataArchiva was released in the AppExchange, the first thing we did was to help our existing customers (for whom we thought of this solution) archive their Salesforce data. After a few successful implementations, we were all blazed for bigger opportunities. We gave multiple demos, especially to fortune 100 healthcare customers. Within no time, DataArchiva started gaining attention and various top enterprises shown great interest in the solution. DataArchiva got its first customer from Australia from the real-estate industry with a 5-star AppExchange rating and a welcoming response. From there, DataArchiva never looked back. Soon we released DataArchiva 2.0 with add-on features to offer amazing user experience.

We started getting a lot of demo requests as many enterprises were looking for a similar solution since long. Quickly DataArchiva got another customer from the United States and it was a Government agency. Meanwhile, DataArchiva was designed to work with the US Government Cloud, which was a significant achievement ensuring the highest data security. The implementation was super quick this time and we finished it within 3 weeks. We even started our partner program and onboard a few partners. The biggest accolade came for DataArchiva; listing in Gartner Market Guide as one of the preferred structured data archiving solutions. By this time, DataArchiva already has another customer in North America (Brazil), one of the biggest food & beverage company.

Dreamforce 18 was approaching and we decided to showcase our flagship product DataArchiva at the biggest cloud event in the world. The stage was all set for a DataArchiva show.

The dream came true at Dreamforce 18

DataArchiva got a home at Dreamforce, booth #1942 in the customer success expo. With all the product resources and extensive product knowledge, our experts were ready to present DataArchiva in front of the entire Salesforce Ohana. Then just like a fairytale, our dream came true and all the hard work paid off when a bucket full of appreciation and interested customers started streaming to our booth. During the four days long event, we showed multiple demos and were able to achieve our Dreamforce goal by innovating, learning and connecting with trailblazers around the globe.  People were really excited about seeing DataArchiva and the response was amazing. Dreamforce 18 was undoubtedly the best for us and we returned back with a lot of motivation, inspiration and a huge number of potential DataArchiva customers.

The road ahead

With a lot to achieve, DataArchiva has a lot to offer in the coming years. We will keep on adding new features to give you the best archiving experience and enable you to get the best out of your Salesforce data.
